Telford & Wrekin Schools and Academies

Schools, academies and multi-academy trusts are invited to purchase a package of provision that can include:

  • Support with Advice, guidance and training for schools to plan, deliver and assess the impact of EAL teaching intervention or EAL teaching strategies
  • EAL and bilingual assessments  of pupils new to the UK school system or those whose progress is causing concern
  • CPD/ consultancy on EAL, equalities, diversity and SMSC 
  • Signposting to translation/ interpretation where possible
  • Signposting to support for schools wishing to provide GCSEs in community languages
  • Workshops and visits for pupils to promote cultural awareness and understanding

Standard Package Cost (10 hours) :£1020

Premier Package Cost (15 hours) :£1450

 

 

 

This includes:

  •  Access to the online resources on the website
  •  Free EAL network meetings for one member of staff for the year
  •  One Flash academy login free and additional logins can be purchased for £75 for  the remainder of the academic year.
  •  Advice and guidance will be given by the team free for the first ten minutes per issue before being charged at the Advisory Teacher rate.

EAL Assessments are conducted at a rate of 4 hours per assessment which includes a brief meeting with parents, assessment in school, write up of the report and feedback to the key member of staff. Specialist EAL assessments are also available if the schools feels the child may have an underlying learning issue but these are only completed after an initial EAL assessment by the MDT team.

All staff meetings are counted as 2 ½ hours which include preparation and delivery of training.

*Courses are charged separately and prices are for CPD via TEAMs: £149 for a place on a full-day course, £99 for half a day and £94 for a twilight. 

 

One off charges

  • EAL assessment: £625 (including assessment in school, write up and feedback
  • Specialist EAL Assessments can only be completed after an EAL assessment by the team and is also charged at £625. 
  • Flash academy logins can be purchased individually for £100 for an academic year. 
  • Advice and guidance is given free for 10 minutes per issue and after charged at £110 per hour. 
  • Consultancy charged at £270 for up to 3 hours
